I am going away. Gaudy litter in the street, cut across to Magazine searching for a home within a home, and we're all searching for our home, ashes on foreheads. Don't know which way to go in the city of the dead. Dusk over Esplanade is purple, a stricken match is gold, all the liquor is green, the people are all bought and sold.

Begging in an alley, crossing a parade, necklaces like leaves in those cold hills.

Morning rares its haunches, a cat on the strike, only the crusties singing penance to the light.
